Literacy in Action
The NMCL periodically recruits tutor trainers for Basic Literacy, ESL, Board Training, specialty workshops, and in-services. Contact us if you qualify in these ways:
- You have tutored using ProLiteracy methods for forty hours or one year, minimum. Both Basic Literacy and ESL training are in demand, with Basic Literacy given preference.
- You have a letter of recommendation from your sponsoring literacy program, stating that you have tutored well and would be a dynamic trainer.
- You have a driver’s license, insurance and are willing to travel in-state occasionally.
We are particularly interested in trainers from the central, southeast, and southwest parts of the state. If accepted, the NMCL will provide you with paid opportunities to apprentice with an experienced trainer and will contact you to train when you have complete your apprenticeship.
